Third Party

Several authors have written a number of modules for contests not in WriteLog. Third party modules do not need a particular version of WriteLog. Upgrading WriteLog does not affect your ability to run them.

Jorgen, SM6SRW has created several modules that can be downloaded and are self installing and of high quality. An installer menu lets you pick what modules you want. The WriteLog team now maintains these modules:

SM6SRW modules repackaged and modified by WriteLog Contesting Software, LLC for installation on WriteLog version 11 and version 12. Published with permission of the author.
This kit of third party modules, version 125804, requires the latest Microsoft C++ libraries. Recent installers of WriteLog install those libraries, but to run these modules on an older WriteLog install, you may have to install the kit from here: Microsoft redistributables. Use the _x86 link even if you’re running Windows 64 bit.

There is also legacy installer that works on very old WriteLog version 10 installations.

Obsolete MMTTY Plugin:

This plugin has been superseded by xmmt.ocx
Do not use unless you have a very old reason to.
MMTTYPluginforWritelog_V13.Exe

This is a self-installing plug-in for WriteLog that adds MMTTY support to WriteLog. WriteLog version 10.27 or newer is required. Note about installing this plugin: On WriteLog version 10.77 and later, use the LegacyInstaller entry in WriteLog’s Start menu to start the installer above.010824: Release 1.2 Added profile panel for Quick profile selection Added new profile panel preferences for NET and AFC in CQ and S&P mode to the TNC-settings dialog More fixes on focusYou will also need to install MMTTY, which is available at http://hamsoft.ca/pages/mmtty.php. Important notes about installing MMTTY:

  1. Do not install MMTTY in its default Program Files location. Instead, install it in a directory that can be written by the usernames that will run MMTTY. An easy way to guarantee that is to first login as that username and create a folder to contain MMTTY. For example, create c:\ham as that user. Then login as administrator and install MMTTY to c:\ham\mmtty
  2. If you want to use MMTTY on two radios from the same PC, then, after installing MMTTY, login as the use that will run MMTTY and create a second directory, say, c:\ham\mmtty2. Copy the contents of mmtty to mmtty2.
  3. When you first run WL’s MMTTY TNC, it will prompt for the MMTTY installation directory. Browse to c:\ham\mmtty. If you run two radios, when you bring up Rttyrite on the second radio, it also will prompt for the installation directory. For this second Rttyrite screen, browse to the copied directory, c:\ham\mmtty2. In this way, you will have two separate MMTTY installation directories and their settings will be separate.
